ABOUT
ME:
I am an agent
with Harvey Klinger, Inc., a full service boutique
literary agency in New York. I represent a range of
adult fiction and non fiction and children’s books, where my
focus is on young adult and middle grade.
I am always looking for
strong, original new voices: there are many debuts among my recent
sales, and I’d like to keep it that way. I represent
the author and not just the project, working to establish long-term relationships
and develop authors' careers.
Before joining Harvey Klinger four years ago, I was a foreign rights
agent at Trident Media Group where I worked with Russell Banks, Michael
Ondaatje and Louis Sachar, among others. I started my career at The
Wylie Agency in New York and then worked as a foreign rights agent
in their London office. I continue aggressively to
market my British and translation rights for my authors, working directly
in the UK and with our fabulous team of coagents in other territories.
PLEASE NOTE: From June 15th through September 21st I will be unable to respond to queries by email as I will be on maternity leave. Your emailed queries to sara AT harveyklinger DOT com will be read, but
you will not receive a response unless we are interested. If you want a response, I would suggest holding off sending the query until after the 21st of September.
Though I much prefer email queries, I do accept queries by regular mail. HOWEVER, please do not send queries to me by regular mail until after September 21st. I will not be able to respond to them.
