Steve Bramucci is an award-winning travel, food, and adventure writer. His work has appeared in USA Today, AFAR, Outside, The Huffington Post, MadeMan.com, OC Register Magazine, and dozens of other online and print outlets. Recently, he crisscrossed Australia in a car powered with veggie oil (for an Aussie TV show), rowed a traditional Vietnamese sampan down the Mekong Delta (a story anthologized in the collection I Learned Kung Fu from a Bear Cub), and attempted to rescue a giant turtle on a pirate island in Madagascar (for a piece which won him the Trazzler 10K Writer’s Prize). He also created the series “How I Travel” for BootsNAll.com, interviewing Anthony Bourdain and other travel luminaries.
When he’s not on the road, Steve visits schools to share stories and folklore that he’s collected abroad along with original tales of scalawags, swashbucklers, and rogues. His first novel Ronald Zupan and the Pirates of Borneo! will be published by Bloomsbury in 2016 with a sequel the following year.
