Kim Savage is a former reporter who received her Master’s degree in Journalism with honors from Northeastern University. She worked as a business journalist, pitching story ideas along the lines of “When Murder Kills Property Values.” You get the idea. Her novel, After the Woods, is a psychological thriller for young adults published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux/Macmillan. Her second novel, Beautiful Broken Girls, releases in 2017. Kim’s short stories, audio stories, and flash fiction have been in The Drum Literary Magazine, Six Minute Magazine, Trapeze Magazine, and Red Fez. Kim is a member of two debut author groups, the Freshman Fifteen and the Sweet Sixteens, the New England Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and Grub Street Inc. She also works closely with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which seeks a cure for Type 1 diabetes, and mentors teen writers through programs at local public and private schools.
Kim lives in Winchester, Massachusetts, not far from the real Middlesex Fells Reservation of After the Woods. Born directionally challenged, the fear of getting lost in that lovely, dark forest lives close to her skin. She and her husband have three children, each of whom beg to appear in her books. They shouldn’t.
After the Woods is her debut novel.
